Project Title:
A Public Health Approach to Suicide Prevention
Project Abstract:
Suicide is a leading cause of death worldwide, yet it remains a low public health priority in many countries. Evidence from individual trials of various programs suggests that suicide can be prevented. In order for countries to make use of existing evidence-based suicide prevention programs, results from these studies need to be carefully evaluated, synthesized, and translated into accessible recommendations. In the proposed project, I will collaborate with the World Health Organization (WHO) to conduct systematic reviews of suicide prevention strategies in order to assist countries with their national suicide prevention plans.
