Project Title:
The Memorial Portrait Busts of Garibaldi’s Supporters on the Janiculum
Project Abstract:
The project will help prepare visual materials of the memorial portraits of Garibaldi’s supporters on the Janiculum and descriptive texts for publication as a book. It will also serve as a catalog for exhibitions of the artworks, and provide funding for the preparation of exhibitions of the works in Italy as well as the United States. Future research will focus on historical aspects of the arrangement of the monuments, as well as historical precedents for this particular form of memorial.
