The Institute of Latin American Studies occupies a unique position at the core of academic study of the region in the UK, promoting, coordinating and providing a focus for research and postgraduate teaching on the Americas - Canada, the Caribbean, Latin America and the United States. Visiting Research Fellows are visitors to the Institute who spend a significant period of time at the Institute (usually between four weeks and six months) undertaking their own research. Visiting Research Fellows are expected to make a contribution to the Institute's program of events during their period of visit, to complete a report at the end of their stay, as well as acknowledge the Institute in any publications or other outputs that arise from this visit.
