Dr. Dipti Tamang is currently a Fulbright-Nehru Postdoctoral Scholar in the South Asia Program, Cornell University, New York. She holds a PhD degree in the field of International Politics, Jawaharlal Nehru University and is employed as a permanent faculty in Darjeeling Government College. Her areas of interests are gender, feminist security studies, identity, citizenship, social movements, and conflict in South Asia/Himalaya, with focus on the Darjeeling Himalayas. She has published with international journals International Studies, International Feminist Journal of Politics, Zubaan Publications, India and writes regularly for web outlets HIMAL, Wire and Mint. She is also a recipient of the Zuban-Sasakawa Young Peace Scholarship and a co-founder of the Confluence Collective. The Collective comprises of early career researchers and practitioners from the Darjeeling-Sikkim Himalayas exploring oral/visual mediums to build collaborative-community based archives of the region
