Majd Alsaif is a Master's student in City and Regional Planning in the Department of Architecture, Art, and Planning. Her focus is on historic preservation and economic development. Exploring how a critical use of historic resources in cities can promote belonging, circular economies, and ecological balance. Majd is interested in exploring how this framework can be applied in post-conflict landscapes. Posing the question in the Arab region, her work will explore what historic preservation planning as reconstruction might look like, its consequences, and how it can aid a democratic and just transition.
