Rebecca Nelson is a professor of plant pathology and plant-microbe biology, plant breeding, and plant genetics. She is the scientific director for the McKnight Foundation's Collaborative Crop Research Program.

Her research focuses on understanding the ways in which plants defend themselves against pathogens.
