International Education Week celebrates global learning
The Einaudi Center is pleased to announce the 17th annual International Education Week (IEW) at Cornell from November 14 to 18, 2016.
IEW is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education designed to promote programs that prepare American students for a role in the world, and that attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States.
The Einaudi Center coordinates Cornell's International Education Week activities each fall.
Several Cornell colleges, schools, departments, centers, programs, and other units are taking part this year. Activities include lectures, seminars, information sessions, receptions, exhibits, films, and social events.

"At a time when so many of us are tempted to turn inward, Cornell has renewed its commitment to reaching outward," said Einaudi Center director Hiro Miyazaki. "This week gives us an opportunity to think deeply about what that means, both for ourselves and for our world."
Among the highlights are the the third talk in the Einaudi Center’s distinguished speaker series on cybersecurity, a lecture by the former U.S. ambassador to Myanmar, a talk by Vietnam’s ambassador to the United Nations, and a roundtable organized by the Reppy Institute on Russia 25 years after the break-up of the Soviet Union.
There will also be an exhibition of Cornell student photos beginning the week of November 7 in the atrium of the Biotechnology Building, and an exhibition of photos from Vietnam organized by the Southeast Asia Program in the Einaudi Center’s offices on the first floor of Uris Hall.
