Teaching/Research Interests: Human and environmental relations, indigenous ways of knowing, food sovereignty, sustainable livelihoods, and climate change

Kassam is a 2024 Global Public Voices freedom of expression fellow. As a 2020–21 GPV fellow, he collaborated with Frederick R. McDonald (Fort McKay First Nation, Alberta, Canada). Read their article in Medium.
