"Practical Strategies for AI-Enhanced PBLL: Designing Projects That Promote Authentic Learning"
Meejeong Song
Teaching Professor, Cornell University

As generative AI becomes increasingly integrated into students' learning practices, language educators are challenged to rethink how project-based language learning (PBLL) can continue to support authentic learning and meaningful language use. This presentation shares practical strategies for designing AI-enhanced PBLL that emphasize process, student agency, and authentic human contributions. Through examples from elementary, intermediate, and advanced language courses, participants will explore ways to integrate AI thoughtfully while maintaining the integrity of language learning. Participants will leave with adaptable ideas for redesigning projects in their own classrooms.
