Ekta Joshi is a PhD student in the field of applied economics and management. She is interested in studying how agriculture can be an effective instrument for economic development in developing countries. Prior to joining Cornell, Ekta worked with the International Rice Research Institute in their agri-food policy division. Her research focused on differential impact-assessment associated with the adoption of modern technology in agriculture. She also worked with the Centre for Policy Research on the evaluation of governance systems and inter-governmental fund flows underpinning the implementation of four important social sector schemes in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh. Ekta holds a master’s degree from Madras School of Economics and a bachelor’s degree from Delhi University’s Hindu College.
