Community-Engaged Learning Internship in Vietnam

Cornell students will collaborate with VinUniversity students in Hanoi, Vietnam, on a community-engaged learning internship with a world-renowned Non-Governmental Agency, Center for Supporting Community Development Initiatives, SCDI

Students from both institutions will collaborate with SCDI staff members and their storytellers of victims of Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE) to document storytellers' lived experiences. In concert with them, students and staff members of SCDI will work on determining the formats for disseminating the stories. The goal of this effort is to support the start of SCDI's prevention, intervention, and rehabilitation efforts for victims of ACE and to support better folks who are current participants of SCDI's programs; its mission is to enhance vulnerable and marginalized populations' ability to integrate into society through researching, designing, experimenting, implementing, and promoting community development models. Students will work as part of a multicultural and multidisciplinary team on projects focused on creating interventions under the supervision of SCDI staff.
