Aditya Vashistha's research focuses on creating social computing technologies that empower underserved communities worldwide to facilitate socio-economic development. As a 2021–22 Global Public Voices fellow, he worked to draw attention to online misinformation, and digital inequality and social injustice.

Vashistha's research has transitioned into real-world products reaching more than 200,000 people in Africa and South Asia.
