Mavis graduated from Rutgers University-Camden with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Gender Studies. During her undergraduate program, she participated in the inaugural AmeriCorps VISTA Summer Associate program with the Center for Family Services Head Start Program in Camden, New Jersey. Mavis is an MPA candidate in the Jeb. E. Brooks School of Public Policy.
