My research examines how state-constructed housing shapes notions and practices of citizenship in Singapore. I am especially interested in how forms of coloniality and unevenness in the wider region are folded into the everyday affective landscapes of life in the housing estates. My project interrogates the forms of racialization and sexual discipline in the built environment, and explores the possibility for a queer decolonial anthropology of Singapore.
